Europe is ageing! Its citizens are increasingly entering their ‘fourth age’ within an extended life course. Longevity implicates the fact that a growing number of people have dementia and are in need of long term care and support. Alzheimer’s Disease International estimates 36 million people with dementia in 2010, nearly doubling every 20 years to 115 million by 2050.
