Matthias Scharlach, born in Germany in 1950, spent his formative years there before completing a locksmith’s apprenticeship and studying to become a certified teacher of mathematics and physics. He worked as a teacher and later delved into personality psychology, becoming a university lecturer and author of doctoral theses published in Germany and abroad. In 1989, he became a professor and founded a university institute for educational sciences.
