Maggiori informazioni sul libro
This book is a type of Rule (a code of practice and discipline for a religious order or community) for bishops, priests, and deacons working in pastoral situations. The preface explains that a number of Rules (Rule of St Benedict is the most famous) have been written in the past for monastic communities. Although these have sometimes been adapted for use by others, they are still only an adaptation from somewhere else. This book aims to be closer to the Rule of Taizé, covering a range of subjects which assist in the lifestyle of the ordained pastoral worker. It addresses issues in pastoral ministry that can sometimes be unspoken (e.g. the challenges of celibacy), encouraging dialogue, reflection, and honest self-examination.The hope is that the themes addressed, which are arranged alphabetically, will give ordained ministers the courage to share challenges and difficult situations they face with colleagues, creating fraternal collaboration. It offers practical guidance in key areas including administration and finance, confession and spiritual direction, homiletics, building on each other's work, and celebrating the sacraments.
