A prominent figure in modernist poetry, Robert Laurence Binyon was born to Quaker parents and educated at Trinity College, Oxford. His career at The British Museum focused on art literature, culminating in works on William Blake and translations of Dante's "Divine Comedy." He continued to write until his death in 1943.
