Focusing on the methodology used in a Chinese college's English reading class, this dissertation critiques the traditional PPP approach for its shortcomings in fostering communication and reading skills. It proposes a shift to a task-based approach to enhance student engagement and learning. The research includes a literature review, analysis of existing lesson plans, and the creation of new plans that integrate task-based strategies. The study concludes with an evaluation of the new plans, acknowledges limitations, and offers suggestions for future research.
