The Comprehensive College details with the challenges a President of an urban college faced during the last decades of the twentieth century. A highly diverse student population in cultural and educational background, in age, in aspiration and goals, and in levels of basic academic skills has brought onto the American college campus many of the social problems that beset a pluralistic society.
