Říši Arhas vládne královna Diosamante. Proslula nejen nemilosrdností a krutostí, ale také bájnou krásou. Jen proto se mocní válečníci z celého světa odvažují účastnit bojů na smrt v naději na jedinou noc lásky s ní… všechny je ale o zimním slunovratu čeká smrt právě z její ruky. Tak to aspoň chodí dlouho... než hrdost mladé královny narazí na vůli krále Urbala ze Sarabby. Je to moudrý panovník, kterého jeho lid miluje, nemohlo by být dvou rozdílnějších vládců. Přesto se stane nemožné a oba se do sebe zběsile zamilují… Komiksové dílo Alejandra Jodorowského už český čtenář dobře zná, ale s touto epickou fantasy freskou se může poprvé seznámit s prací Jeana-Clauda Gala, geniálního a bohužel předčasně zesnulého výtvarníka, jehož barokní, spletitě ornamentální, temně působivá a starověce pompézní kresba se stala ve Francii i jinde legendou. Přestože originální text vyšel roce 1992, překlad do českého jazyka vychází z upraveného fancouzského originálu Diosamante vydaného roku 2013 nakladatelstvím Les Humanoïdes Associés, které obsahuje původní náčrty a nedokončené Galovy kresby.
