The narrative follows Professor Otto Lidenbrock, an eccentric German scientist, who embarks on an adventurous expedition to discover volcanic tubes leading to the Earth's core. Accompanied by his nephew Axel and their Icelandic guide Hans, they descend into the dormant volcano Snæfellsjökull, facing numerous perils such as cave-ins, tornadoes, and encounters with prehistoric creatures.
