[...] Der Ägyptologe Gustav Seyffarth gibt mit dem vorliegenden Werk eine erste Anleitung zur Übersetzung altägyptischer Literatur. Ausführlich erläutert er die Schriftzeichen und die Grammatik. Ergänzt wird dieser Band durch ein umfangreiches Hieroglyphenalphabet. Dieses Buch ist ein unveränderter Nachdruck der längst vergriffenen Originalausgabe von 1855.
