Diesem vierten Bändchen der Edition Ostschweiz liegt ein ähnliches Konzept zugrunde wie vor zwei Jahren dem Büchlein mit den Sitterkieseln: Es ist einerseits die Faszination einer sinnlichen Wahrnehmung und andererseits die rationale Erklärung des Phänomens. Grafiker und Fotograf waren bezaubert vom formalen und farblichen Reichtum der Herbstblätter, der Botaniker – auch er immer noch ein Staunender – lieferte die wissenschaftlich fundierten Erklärungen.
