Maggiori informazioni sul libro

In this classic tale by Beatrix Potter, Jemima Puddle-Duck longs to lay her eggs in peace and hatch them herself. She discovers a seemingly perfect spot in a woodshed, unaware that the charming gentleman who owns it has sinister plans for her—he's preparing a roast duck! Jemima, a real duck from Potter's own farm, is saved from this fate by her loyal sheepdog, Kep. Beatrix Potter is celebrated as one of the most beloved children's authors, with her first book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, published in 1902. She created a series of enchanting stories featuring memorable animal characters, including Mrs. Tiggy-winkle and Benjamin Bunny. Her delightful tales and exquisite illustrations have become a cherished part of childhood. With the proceeds from her books, Potter purchased Hill Top farm in the English Lake District, where she became a farmer and prize-winning sheep breeder. She also pioneered a vast merchandise program, beginning with the first Peter Rabbit doll in 1903, which has since expanded to include various products worldwide. Upon her death, Potter bequeathed 14 farms and over 4,000 acres of Lake District land to the National Trust, ensuring the preservation of the area she loved. Today, her original 23 tales, including this one, continue to be published and enjoyed by new generations.
