George Moore

    24 febbraio 1852 – 21 gennaio 1933

George Augustus Moore, an influential figure in Irish literature, was a multifaceted talent—novelist, poet, and art critic—who initially pursued a career in painting in Paris. His friendships with prominent French artists and writers shaped his naturalistic writing style, making him one of the first English-language authors to embrace French realism, particularly influenced by Émile Zola. While often considered outside the mainstream of Irish and British literature, he is recognized as a pioneering modern Irish novelist, marking his significance in literary history.
