Conosciuto come Giuliano l'Apostata, questo imperatore romano si dedicò alla letteratura e alla filosofia, spingendolo ad abbracciare il paganesimo e a immergersi nella saggezza delle città greche. Come governatore della Gallia, dimostrò una notevole leadership restaurando prosperità ed efficacia amministrativa dopo le incursioni barbariche. Salito al trono imperiale unico, avviò significative riforme, promuovendo la tolleranza religiosa pur sostenendo la rinascita delle antiche tradizioni pagane. Il suo breve regno fu segnato da ampi preparativi per una spedizione contro la Persia, dove trovò tragicamente la morte.
Understanding Metalepsis provides a state-of-the-art overview of the narratological concept of metalepsis and develops new ways of investigating the forms and functions of metaleptic narratives. Informed by a hermeneutic perspective, this study offers not only an account of the complexities that characterize the process of understanding metaleptic phenomena, but also metatheoretical insights into the hermeneutics of narratology.
