Young William Shakespeare is well-pleased to leave his father's glove-making workshop for a promising new position at a grand mansion, but instead of good fortune, Will finds himself tricked and transported to a strange world called Middlemont where nature is ruled by magic and the pull of two large moons. Will quickly discovers that if he is ever to return to the arms of his beloved Agnes in Stratford, he must pay his way with a portion of rare medicine made from a powdered blue rose. There is also the problem of Will's father - his real father - the one Will knows nothing about. He too wants something from Will; but unfortunately, this is the one thing that Will cannot live without. Only when father and son collide, does Will discover the secret of his conception and the monstrous reason why he has been lured to this magical land.
