It's 1867. The USA has just purchased Alaska from the Russian Empire, and sent Colonel Jefferson Davis and part of the 9th Infantry to take possession of the 'last frontier'. Replacing the 'Russkies' would prove to be the easy part though; governing the new territory something else entirely, because the soldiers are barely off the steamship before two officers are brutally slain in Sitka's cathedral. Jake Pierce is an embittered army scout, assigned to 'handle' any troublesome Indians that might be encountered. The problem is, for a man filled with hate, the only good Indian is a dead one! And that could lead him and his new partner, Cleetus Payne, into more trouble than even he can handle. Especially as they are tasked with tracking the two assassins into mainland Alaska. With the reason for the killings unclear, this proves to be only the start of something very nasty indeed!

    • John Ewing has a dream. He wants to put defeat in the war behind him, and make something of his life. In his case, that means taking a herd of three thousand Texas Longhorns along the Chisholm Trail, all the way from San Antonio to the Kansas Pacific railhead in Abilene, Kansas. A dangerous journey of over seven hundred miles, with seemingly everything against him. But he has far more to contend with than just hostile Indians, prejudice from the victorious northerners, and nature itself. Vernon Peck, an old Confederate Army comrade, turns up out of nowhere in desperate need of a job. His lethal talent with a gun brings undoubted benefits, but is employment all he is really after? And in addition, transcending all other concerns, there is the one thing that could ruin all of Ewing's hopes . . . Texas Fever!

The days of slaughtering buffalo were supposedly over, mainly because there were so pitifully few of them remaining. But with top dollar on offer for their severed heads as trophies, some hunters just can't resist. In Yellowstone Park, where such poaching is illegal, Captain Moses Harris and his company of US Cavalry are assigned the job of stopping them. Yet in the depths of winter, following an apparently motiveless murder on the army post in Mammoth, the captain begins to realize that it is not just the buffalo that are threatened by greed and corruption. With a merciless hired gun on the loose, Harris sends army scout Deke Wilson and a squad of soldiers in pursuit. This triggers a sequence of events involving high finance and the Northern Pacific Railroad, which not only endangers the lives of them all, but also the very survival of America's first national park.

Pick a good model and stay with it, Henry Ford once said. No, he was not talking about cars; he was talking about marriage. Was Clara Bryant Ford a good model? A hardened frontiersman, known only as Bannock, and his friend Chet Butler are escorting members of a religious sect, the Children of God, through the wastes of Sonora in Northern Mexico. The colonists, eager to be free from persecution, have fled the USA in search of a new home. Unfortunately for the strict pacifists, a band of raiding Comanches finds them first. Following a desperate battle, Bannock flees for his life through the desert. After a tortuous journey, he stumbles, more dead than alive, upon an old Spanish mission, long abandoned by its priests. In their place is a small settlement of poorly armed peons, barely scraping a living, and in permanent fear of Indian marauders. Building a bond with his saviors, Bannock reluctantly decides that he is all done with running, and that whatever terrors the "Comanche Moon" brings, they will face them together!

      The Forgotten Land
    • Kansas in 1857 is a dangerous place to live. Lee Madden, tired of the relentless cycle of violence, joins a westward bound wagon train led by his old army friend, Jake Twelvetrees. Good with a gun, it is Lee's job to protect the settlers on their journey to Oregon from the hostile tribes along the famous Platte River Road. Unfortunately for him, they will not be the only threat. His past catches up with him in the brutal shape of Deacon Swain, a 'border ruffian' out to avenge the killing, back in Kansas, of his younger brother. There are compensations though. After a vicious clash with Pawnee Indians, Lee finds himself increasingly attracted to the newly widowed Martha. The question is, can their relationship survive both his deadly feud with Swain and a determined assault on the wagon train by Sioux Indians in the foothills of the Rockies?

      Gone West!
    • "Josiah Wakefield and his friend Dan Sturgis are buffalo hunters on the Northern Plains of Nebraska, shortly after the Civil War. Their job is to provide meat for the labourers pushing the Union Pacific Railroad relentlessly westward. Tiring of the bloody slaughter, they find work as trouble-shooters for the same railroad, as Sioux warriors are attacking the supply trains and tracklayers. However, the pair quickly discover that someone is supplying the Indians with repeating rifles, and that stolen 'Double Eagles' are the incentive. Recovering the gold turns out to be relatively simple: keeping hold of it is something else entirely. Even the Missouri River seems to be against them. Unsure who they can trust, they return to the railhead. Here, in a familiar environment, they decide to make a stand against all comers, in the hope that they can finally bring the ringleader to account."--Publisher description

This direct sequel to The Lawmen sees Deputy United States Marshal Jesse Bronson sent north of the line into Canada, to assist with the capture of two highly dangerous American outlaws. Brin Carson and Vern Hatcher have joined up with a gang of ruthless Metis half-breeds led by Gabriel Dumont. Their joint aim is to lucratively target the Canadian Pacific Railroad, who have not experienced any train robberies before. To his surprise, Bronson discovers that he is again to be partnered with Samuel Bairstow of the Northwest Mounted Police. And thanks to Dumont's brutality, Bairstow has a personal score to settle that could jeopardise the whole mission.
