A little puppy named Nellie finds a drone's remote control and begins playing with it, which sets off a drone's wacky flight through a small town. As it flies, the drone videotapes the activities going on in various locations, such as a library, a barber shop, and a railroad yard. When Nellie is discovered playing with the remote, it is programmed to safely return to its owner. But, during a town meeting, the video of the drone's flight is shown to a concerned public. After viewing the video, everyone is amazed to see that the video features the best things about their town, including many acts of kindness performed by the town's people. Nellie becomes the town's unlikely hero.
