As Colin Graves prepares for his first day on the Glenview, Illinois police force he has a flashback memory that takes him back to the events from a rite of passage when he was thirteen. Aspects of that rite surface often for him in the weeks ahead that interweave with a series of murders of young women. Colin Graves is suspected of being involved and becomes pivotal in solving, not only the current murders, but also holds the key to a number of cold cases.
