The study investigates the impact of non-biodegradable organic solids (NBOS) in mixing water on cement mortar, addressing a gap in existing standards that do not specify limits for NBOS. Through laboratory experiments, it was found that a concentration of 500 mg/L of NBOS resulted in a compressive strength of 55.65 MPa, slightly higher than that of reference samples mixed with rainwater. Additionally, the initial and final setting times increased by 43 and 28 minutes, respectively, compared to the reference cement, highlighting the significant effects of NBOS on cement properties.
