The White Witch of Wimbledon is about my Brtish friend who has been a polio victim since she was a toddler, spent her childhood in an iron lung, then was whisked away in a coach with hundreds of children from London in advance of the anticipated Nazi invasion of England. She endured an abusive childhood in additon to her handicap, but with true courage she survived. Doreen morphed into her Celtic and Rommany Gypsy heritage and became an outstanding psychic.
