Maggiori informazioni sul libro

The five books of Enoch, often referred to as the 'Book of Enoch' or '1st Enoch,' are a collection written in Semitic languages at various times. The oldest among them is the Book of the Watchers, though its exact age is debated. This book predates Christianity, as evidenced by the Dead Sea Scrolls, but was lost to Europeans for over a millennium, who mistakenly believed it to be a Christian work upon its rediscovery in Ethiopia. Other texts attributed to Enoch include the Secrets of Enoch, or 2nd Book of Enoch, which survives only in Old Slavonic on the Balkan Peninsula and may be a paraphrase of the Book of the Watchers. Additionally, the Revelation of Metatron, also known as the Book of the Palaces or the 3rd Book of Enoch, is distinct from the Ethiopian 3rd Book of Enoch and the Semitic texts. This work acts as a sequel to the first five books, narrated from Enoch's perspective in the heavens, where he is known as Metatron.
