The journey to the Moon unfolds through the experiences of three passengers: Impey Barbicane, the ambitious president of the Gun Club; his rival turned ally, Captain Nicholl; and the adventurous French scientist, Michel Ardan. Traveling in a hollow cannonball, they orbit the Moon and conduct geographical observations. However, their mission takes an unexpected turn when the projectile fails to land, sending them back toward Earth.
