La storia segue Hercule Poirot in vacanza a Gerusalemme, dove si imbatte nella famiglia Boynton dominata dalla terribile signora Boynton, una ex-guardia carceraria, sadica e domatrice che tiene i suoi figli in una vera e propria sudditanza psicologica, finché non viene trovata morta durante una gita a Petra. Questo giallo classico è un capolavoro di Agatha Christie che ti tiene con il fiato sospeso dall'inizio alla fine.
