FOLLOW ME ON I am a Black woman poet; the declaration/clarification is necessary. But where and who I am now is not where I started 10 years ago. Locations, loves, lessons-everything changed.In the last decade, the song of how this Black woman held it down and held on became a battle-cry instead of a lullaby. Those years, these poems chased/birthed/illuminated changes I wasn't always ready for. But I knew this was true journey, so I breathed deep, bound my wounds, and kept moving.
